The funding came from the NSW Government to the see the crucially important and historical agricultural show pavilion restored for its original purpose and for the benefit of the wider community. The Crown Lands Showgrounds Stimulus and Public Reserve Management Fund grants have made the significant restoration and preservation of these sort of crucial buildings and those at the Bathurst Showground possible over the past decade.

The work at Rydal was christened at the village's show on February 3, which kicked off the ag show season in the Bathurst region. Oberon, Sofala, Blayney and Bathurst follow over the next few months.

The over 60 year service of Ian Litchfield as the Rydal Chief Wool Steward was also praised by the Member for Bathurst, Paul Toole MP.
