About Us

For 200 years, since 1815, agriculture has been a key part of our region's life and development.

The pursuit of excellence has always been a primary objective and the desire to create competitions and expositions to promote that objective have been evident in the region since the early 1850's.

The Bathurst Agricultural,Horticultural & Pastoral Association and its forebears have been actively pursuing the development of our rural life and industry since 1858. Like rural life through history we have had our ups and downs. Despite this the BAH&PA through its governing body the Show Council remains committed to our objectives, traditions and the pursuit of excellence.

The Bathurst AH & P Association is a charitable, not for profit, community member based organisation that conducts the Royal Bathurst Show, regular produce & artisan Markets, supplementary competitive events, training, workshops, networking and social events.

Our objectives are:

  • to encourage the development of the agricultural, horticultural and pastoral industries,
  • to encourage the improvement of livestock,
  • to promote competition in the fields of agriculture, horticulture and livestock production, and
  • to educate people in general about the agricultural, horticultural and pastoral industries and without limiting the foregoing to educate persons involved in the said industries as to techniques, implements and machinery available for use therein.

To achieve these objects the Assocation will:

  • conduct exhibitions,
  • award prizes for superiority in animals, produce, horticulture, arts, crafts, manufacture, machinery, farm implements, skill in equestrian events and such other categories or rural expertise as may from time to time be approved, and
  • promote, encourage and participate in correspondence and friendly communication with kindred organisations.
